Golfer Tiger Woods Honored by President Donald Trump with the Presidential Medal of Freedom

President Donald Trump presented legendary American golfer Tiger Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Tuesday 7th May 2019.

The POTUS awarded the Medal of Freedom to the 11 times PGA Player of the year and joked about how they would only remember the good days and not the bad ones.

Tiger Wood was emotional when he accepted the award.

In his speech, he talked about his late father. 

The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the highest civilian honor awarded in the United States and is presented to the individual who makes a great contribution to American society. 

After Tiger Woods exemplary win in Augusta, President Trump had announced that he would be presenting the award to the golfer.

Donald Trump complimented Woods saying that he was an outstanding athlete and "also a great guy."

He further mentioned that the golfer had inspired millions of Americans and people around the globe with his victories in golf.

Trump described Tiger Woods win in 2019 Masters as "an incredible comeback" even after suffering major injuries to himself. 

In his speech, Woods thanked his family and girlfriend and all the people who stood by him through thick and thin.
