John Oates, the Songwriters Hall of Famer, and his wife Aimee Oates are a happily married couple. John and Aimee dated each other for quite a while before planning their wedding. The pair tied the knot in 1994.

In 1996, John and Aimee welcomed a baby boy together. Their only child, a son, is named Tanner Oates. There hasn't been much news about their relationship. It seems the pair prefers to keep her love life much more away from the theme

Their preference to keep their love life out of the spotlight may be claimed as one of many reasons for their successful marital life. By now, John and Aimee are married for over 28 years, and over these years, they were never rumored to have proceeded to split or divorce. 

Not often, but John shares his wife on his Instagram. The couple loves hangouts, hiking, and traveling to different places. On November 3, 2018, John shared a picture of himself with his wife Aimee, back from their hiking at Indian Canyon, in Palm Springs.

John, who rose to fame in his 20s after winning a concert with Atlantic Records in 1972, found love quite early. John met his love interest in an unlikely place at a Minneapolis concert.

Ford model Nancy Hunter attended the concert and John immediately noticed her, and things started shortly after. John and Nancy got married in 1983, and they eventually settled down in an apartment in Manhattan

John and Nancy's marriage couldn't work out well and they eventually split. Shedding light on how their relationship met an end, John pointed fingers at himself, saying he was so carefree.

I should never have been married in the '80s. She was a successful model and I was running around the world like I was single.

Also, Nancy had a similar story to tell.

We lived an exciting and amazing life. I was in love, I was seeing the world, and I was meeting extraordinary people. Life was good.

Further, Nancy recalled,

It was a dream existence for a long while. On the arm of John Oates, the seas would part as we flew the Concorde and private jets to exotic locales.

John and Nancy had bought several properties including a Connecticut farm, a place in Aspen, and an expensive car. However, at one point John turned penniless. One day John's accountant called him telling him he was completely broke. John somehow win back some of his plundered fortune and royalties.

These days, John lives a simpler life, without private jets and luxurious residences. John and his now-wife Aimee live in Colorado with their son, Tanner.
