The 46-year-old Huma Mahmood Abedin, popularly known as Huma Abedin, is one of the most popular political staffers in the United States. She worked as the vice-chairperson of Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign for the President of the United States.
Before that, she was working as deputy chief of staff to Clinton, who was U.S. Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013. Abedin had also stood by Clinton's side in 2008, during the presidential election, when she worked as traveling chief of staff and former assistant for Clinton.

Abedin was born on July 28, 1976, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the United States to her father, Syed Zainul Abedin, and his mother, Saleha Mahmood Abedin. At the age of two, she moved to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) along with her family. She was raised by her parents along with her sister and brother. She joined the British Girls' School, where she completed her school.

Abedin attended George Washington University after completing school, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Journalism. Her minor was in political science. During her teenage years, she was inspired to be a journalist and wanted to work in the White House press office like her role model Christiane Amanpour.
While she was studying at George Washington University, Abedin started working as an intern in the White House in 1996 and she made a contract with the then First Lady Hillary Clinton. She also worked as an assistant editor of the Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs. She also worked as a backup to Clinton's personal aide.
According to a number of Clinton associates, Abedin is also a trusted advisor to Clinton, particularly in the Middle East, and has been known for her expertise regarding issues surrounding the region.

She filed for divorce from her husband Weiner the same day he pleaded guilty to transferring obscene material to a minor only to withdraw the divorce case at the beginning of 2018.
