Ira Glass was born and raised in Baltimore County where he attended Milford Mill High School. There he was active in Student Theater, student government, and yearbook. In 1975 musical South Pacific, he starred the role of Captain George Brackett. Next year, he played Lowe in Damn Yankees. While he was in his senior year at his high school, he served in student government as a member of the executive board. He completed his high school graduation from Milford Mill High School in 1977 and then he got enrolled at Northwestern University. Later on he got transferred to Brown University with a major in semiotics and finally earned his bachelor’s degree from there in 1982. While he was in his late teens, he did his intern at National Public Radio's headquarters. There he is known for being the reporter and the host of several shows named Morning Edition, All Things Considered, and Talk of the Nation. From the end of 1990, he began co hosting the Chicago Public Radio called, The Wild Room and he was in this show till September 1995. In 1995, he was named the host and the producer of the show This American Life and in 2009; he was honored with the Edward R. Murrow Award for Outstanding Contributions to Public Radio. At the end of 1990s, he worked with an American author Jessica Abel and together they published a comic book, titled Radio: An Illustrated Guide in September 1999. At the end of 2007, he published The New Kings of Nonfiction. He is famous for being the producer of the Three Acts, Two Dancers and One Radio Host alongside Monica Bill Barnes & Company.
