This happened a year after he broke up with Brooke, which seems to have hit him hard and sent him on a downward spiral. Dominic and Anna seemed to have a great start with their love life. Well, that is, until problems started appearing in their relationship.

The couple's romantic love journey took a plunge for the worse and three years down the line, and they called it a quit. But this was not the first time the two had parted ways. They had seperated once before, in 2012, but had a patchup soon.
The news of the couple's split was revealed by US Weekly on December 14, 2014.

According to a close friend of the actress, the possible reason for the couple's breakup in 2014 was Anna's desire to settle down soon. As he said to the US Weekly:
Though AnnaLynne’s not in a rush to get married, her sisters getting engaged must have made her evaluate her own relationship to some degree,
He further added,
Dominic seemed - more into AnnaLynne than she was into him.
The breakup came as a blow for the actor. But having failed twice, he was not ready to fail again. So the couple reconciled in 2016.
The Accident that Brought the Couple Together
In mid-2016, the couple was rumored to have hooked up again. On June 1, Anna shared a picture of the couple while Dominic was taken to the hospital after the accident on the sets of the movie Prison Break with the caption,
"My #badass muthaf**ker man not worried at all during our 2-hour 'copter ride to be treated following an incident during filming. Won't lie. It was scary AF wondering for hours if his skull was in tact. @northrupchristina giving the watch-care, producer eye. Alas, I'm with a rough'n tough Aussie for a reason. The post came as a proof that they were together again.
In an interview with the Daily Mial, Anna talked about their reconciliation,
I came back into his life as his friend, and I took him to his doctor's appointments. I was there with him because whether or not he knew it, I love him.
Dominic must be lucky to have won her love for the second time. People seldom get two chances in life.

But again, things became complicated in their relationship and the couple ended up separating after a couple of months. They are yet to reveal the reason behind the second breakup.
