Katy Perry is a well-known name in the American music industry. She received a lot of success in her career as a singer /songwriter and has also earned a lot of fans from all around the world. Katy Perry was once married to the British actor Russell Brand, however, they are now divorced and are living their life separately.

Talking about Katy Perry's marriage, Katy was married to Russell Brand, an English comedian, actor, author, radio host, and activist. Brand and Perry started flirting since 2009 on the rehearsal stage of VMA. However, the couple was having a secret affair until the last day of the year 2009 when Brand proposed Katy. Soon after they were engaged during their extended vacation at a tiger sanctuary in Rajasthan, India.

Later in the year 2010, after around 6 months of being engaged, they leveled up and got married. They married in India in an Indian style wedding and sources say that the only guest present in the wedding ceremony were their closest family and friends. The couple was dressed in traditional Indian dresses, and the celebration lasted for a couple of days with Rajasthani folk music and dances. It seemed to be a fairytale in the beginning and like a Disney movie, where the princess falls in love with the prince in matters of days. However, it did not turn out to be a successful relationship after all; they split in December of the very next year in 2011.

In the beginning, it was said that they split for some irreconcilable reasons. Katy said that Russell ended things over a text on December 31, 2011. Soon after the divorce, Katy opened up to the media and said that she still misses him. However, after around eight months of her divorce, she started dating singer and the songwriter, John Mayer. But her relationship with John Mayer, in spite of their best efforts started getting cold and they decided to call off their relationship.

Initially, Katy claimed that the reason they parted ways was that she wasn’t ready to have kids. But as per the documentary released by her ex-hubby Russell, it was her growing success and fame that murdered the relationship. The documentary released in March 2015, is about Brand rejecting his shallow life as a celebrity for a bigger and better life cause. In the documentary, he has mentioned that his relationship with Perry has had an intense effect on him. 

As per sources, Katy is now currently happy with her current beau Orlando Bloom. But on the other hand, rumors has it that the couple is splitting because Orlando, who is already the father of a son, doesn’t want to get married and have kids this soon. However, the couples are together for now and we wish the best for this couple.
