Broadcast journalist, news anchor, and correspondent, Isha Sesay is a British journalist of Sierra Leonean descent. From 2005 to 2018, she worked as an anchor and correspondent for CNN International before she quit in August 2018. She is known for hosting the shows like CNN NewsCenter and BackStory.

Isha Sesay is from a Muslim family, born as Isha Isatu Sesay in Bordeaux, France to Dr. Kadi Sesay, a lecturer at Fourah Bay College. Her father Mamud Sesay worked as a legal advisor to the SLPMB before his death in 1988. She has a brother named Mamud Sesay Jr. and a sister named Jane Sesay.

She studied at the private Fourah Bay College School in Freetown, and later at the age of 16, Isha moved to study A-Levels in the UK and joined Trinity College, Cambridge after A-level completion. Isha Sesay whose childhood dream was being an actress changed her interest in journalism and writing after her graduation.
Isha Sesay's career
Initially, she began working as a researcher for the BBC talk show Kilroy. In 1998, she got a full-time job in BBC Scotland. She then joined CNN TWI and finally Sky Sports. She was the anchor of the Good Morning Sports Fans for about three years.
In November 2005, Sesay became a news anchor and correspondent at CNN International, originally based in Atlanta, Georgia, and now based in Los Angeles. From January 17, 2011, she also contributed for Anderson Cooper 360° on CNN as presenter of the 360 Bulletin.
But after 13 years serving, she left CNN on August 1, 2018, citing President Donald Trump-focused coverage as the reason. Currently, she is reported to be writing a book about the Chibok girls, being released in May 2019.

Talking about her personal life, in 2008, Isha Sesay was involved in a romantic love affair with her boyfriend Leif Coorlim, a fellow CNN staff. After being in love with each other they announced their engagement in early 2013 and finally got married on August 18, 2013. The couple is yet to share children.
