Dame Jane Morris Goodall, DBE was born on 3rd April 1934. She is a UN Messenger for Peace. She is an English primatologist and an ethologist. She has received lots of honor as well as awards for her work to make peace in the world.
She was born in London, England. Her parents were parents father Mortimer Herbert Morris-Goodall and mother Margaret Myfanwe Joseph. Her father was a businessman and her mother was a novelist. During her childhood days, her father gave her a toy; it was a chimpanzee toy and it was named Jubilee by her father. It is at that time she started to like animals and became desirous to make peace in the world.
Dame Jane Morris Goodall was interested in animals since her childhood days. And her interest took her to Kenya in 1957. She worked on a farm of her friend as a secretary. One day she called Louis Leakey, who was a Kenyan archaeologist and paleontologist.
In the following year, the Kenyan archaeologist offered her to study primate behavior in London. He raised the fund and helped her to obtain a Ph.D. degree in Ethology from Cambridge University.
Marriage, Divorce & Children: Know Her Husbands
It was on the 28th of November, 1964, when Dame Jane Morris Goodall got married. She married to a Dutch nobleman, Baron Hugo van Lawick. She was a wildlife photographer. The wedding ceremony was held at Chelsea Old Church, London. After the wedding, she changed her name to Baroness Jane van Lawick-Goodall.
The couple has a son together and his name is Hugo Eric Louis, who was born in 1967. However, their married life didn't last that long and in 1974, they ended their marital relationship with a divorce.
Then Dame Jane remained single for a year. One year later she got married to her second husband Derek Bryceson. He was one of the important persons of Tanzania's parliament. He was also the director of national parks in Tanzania.
Dame and her spouse Derek were in a relationship until 1980 as they divorced.
Death of her second Husband
The year Jane divorced her second spouse Drake, he was diagnosed with cancer. And shortly after that in October 1980, he died.
She then shifted to his position as the director of the national part and devoted her life to the protection of wild animals.
