Actress Jane Seymour was born on February 15, 1951, in Hayes, Middlesex, England, and was named Joyce Penelope Wilhelmina Frankenberg. Her father was a British Jewish obstetrician, and her mother was a Dutch Protestant nurse. Jane's parents divorced when she was young, and she was raised by her mother and stepfather.

Regarding education, Seymour attended the Arts Educational School in Tring, Hertfordshire, where she trained in dance, music, and drama. After graduating, she joined the London Festival Ballet and appeared in several productions before transitioning to acting.
