When Jason was a child, his father used to teach him guitar chords. He also used to teach him where to place his fingers to play the chords. As he was passionate about music, he used to practice that chord all day, and at night after his father came back from his work they used to play the guitar together.
He began performing at a young age and when he was 15, he joined a house band. After graduating from high school, he performed at Truman State University. He first signed for Warner-Chappell but he didn't record any music with them.
