Before being married with love of his life Miranda Manasiadis, Jemaine also dated her as his girlfriend for several years. This long term love affair was converted into a married life in August 2008 and from that time on they have been living as a husband and wife. As a loving spouse, they have also welcomed once child together.
Jemaine completed his secondary education from Makoura College. After that he joined Victoria University of Wellington with a major in drama and film. There he met film director and comedian Taika Waititi and with him he formed So You're a Man and The Humourbeasts. He also met comedian Bret McKenzie while he was in Victoria University of Wellington and together they formed the comedy band Flight of the Conchords in 1998. They began touring as a comedy duo from the late 1990s and their first CD Folk the World Tour was finally released in 2002. He is also a great actor and has been acting since 1995. His debut acting role was in 1995 as Vampire in the movie Blood Suckers. The following year he appeared in the TV series The Enid Blyton Adventure Series as MIS Guard.
