While Gilsig was in her high school she met love of her life Bobby Salomon. But it was from 2002 they began dating each other. After being in love for several years, they got married on 1st of January 2005. She gave birth to her first child at the end of 2006. Though they were happily married this married life came to an end in 2010 after she filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.
As a child, Jessalyn joined Trafalgar School for Girls. At the age of 12, she voice acted in the short movie Masquerade. After the completion of her high school graduation, she joined McGill University in 1989. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English in 1993. Later she also got enrolled at Harvard University. Half a decade later after she made her acting debut she appeared in the short movie The Journey Home. That year she also appeared in the movie Jacknife. In 1991, she starred the role of Tina in the TV series The Little Flying Bears. She got her rise in fame after she began starring the role of Lauren Davis in the TV series, Boston Public.
