Jill Bauer is an American journalist and a director, producer, and non-fiction author. Alongside her journalism career, Bauer also fulfilled her lifelong dream of working in the entertainment world by co-directing and producing two documentary films Sexy Baby and Hot Girls Wanted.

She was nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking for Hot Girls Wanted and won Traverse City Film Festival for Best Film By a First-Time Director for the Sexy Baby. As a producer and writer, she worked in television series documentary Hot Girls Wanted: Turned.

The same year she published her first book non-fiction humor From I Do to I'll Sue which was published on April 1, 1993. Two years later she launched SmartKid magazine in September 1995. She also worked as the managing editor for SmarKid magazine until September 1997. 

Furthermore, Jill worked as an editor and journalist at the Miami Herald, Miami Magazine, The New York Times and The Dallas Morning News. Then she started to work at the University of Miami magazine from 2006. She worked there for three years.
