Chip Gaines is the owner of Magnolia Homes, a remodeling, and design business in Waco, TX alongside his wife. As a husband and wife, they have already welcomed four children together and they are named as Drake, Ella, Duke and Emmie Kay.

She did an intern in interior designing, while she was in New York. With a bunch of ideas and talent, she moved to Waco, Texas and opened her own shop there in 2003. Her husband also joined her and together they began remodeling and flipping homes. From May 2013, they launched a show titled Fixer Upper. This show is mainly about a remodeling and design business where the couple turns dilapidated but potential-rich houses into showplaces that are helping revitalize whole neighborhoods throughout central Texas.
In September 2017, the pair revealed that they are shutting Fixer Upper down after the fifth episode.
