Johnny Nicholas is an American blues musician born in 1948 in the United States. Nicholas is the multi-instrumentalist who plays several instruments like, harmonica, mandolin, piano, and guitar.

1960

Formed the Band Cat Blues

Nicholas formed the band, “Black Cat Blues” with Duke Robillard, Fran Christina, and Steve Nardella in the mid-90s, the band collected a huge popularity and appreciation.

1970

Joined Boogie Brother

Nicholas left Black Cat Blues Band and joined Boogie Brother band with Nardella. Boogie Brothers performed in San Franciso, California as per the request of Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen.

1974

Released Too Many Bad Habits

In Chicago, Illinois Nicholas started playing with Big Walter Horton. In the same year, he released his first single, “Too Many Bad Habits” for Blind Pig Records and formed his own band.

1978

Traveled Several Cities for Solo Shows

During 1978 Nicholas traveled to several cities for solo shows as well as visited Louisiana to play with Link Davis and a Cajun accordion player Nathan Abshire.

1981

Owned Hill Top Cafe

Nicholas and his gorgeous wife Brenda own a roadside restaurant called “Hill Top café” in Texas. Though Nicholas has a very busy schedule he manages time for his family.

1991

Returned Blues Musics

After being a father of three boys, Nicholas returned back to recording blues music with the very hit album “Back to the Country”, along with Johnny Shines and Snooky Pryor.  

2012

Releasd Two Albums

Nicholas released two albums, “Future Blues" and “The Golden Triangle: Swamp Blues” for TopCat. And also released a studio album for TopCat Records. Which made him a famous music personality.

Firstly, talking about his early career Johnny created a band, “The Vikings”, which performed cover versions of popular rhythm and blues, along with Rolling Stones band. Further, he collaborated with Duke Robillard, Fran Christina, and Steve Nardella and formed the Black Cat Blues Band.

In the middle of his career, Johnny moved to Chicago, Illinois and joined Big Waiter Horton. There he released his single, “Too Many Bad Habits” for Blind Pig Records.

Again moving to Providence, Rhode Island, Nicholas  finally formed his very first band, "Johnny Nicholas and the Rhythm Rockers,"  along with Kaz Kazanoof on saxophone, Ronnie Earle as an electric guitarist, Sarah Brown as bass guitarist and Terry Bingham as a drummer.

During Johnny’s leisure time he started his stint with Asleep at the Wheel and traveled several cities for solo shows. But mostly, he visited Louisiana to play with Link Davis and Cajun accordion player Nathan Abshire.

Heading towards Johnny's personal life, Nicholas and his beautiful wife Brenda is blessed with three boys. Both own and run a roadside restaurant named “Hill Top Café” in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Although the couple has a good financial status, their exact earning and net worth is yet to know.
