Jonathan Tucker was born as Jonathan Moss Tucker on May 31, 1982, in Boston, Massachusetts, the United States of America, to Paul Hayes Tucker and Maggie Moss.
His father was a professor of art at the University of Massachusetts Boston while his mother was a public relations and marketing analyst.
His paternal great-grandfather was a historian and ambassador Carlton J. H. Hayes. His uncle and aunt, John Grim and Mary Evelyn Tucker, are the founder of the Forum on Religion and Ecology at Yale University.
His mother is Jewish (of Romanian Jewish descent) while his father is of Irish Catholic background. He is of American nationality and belongs to white ethnicity.
As for his education, raised in Charlestown, Massachusetts, Jonathan has attended The Park School in Brookline, Massachusetts and The Thacher School in Ojai, California.

Jonathan Tucker made his acting and film debut with the role of Moses Junior in the comedy film Troublemakers in 1994.
He has since appeared in numerous movies such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Virgin Suicides, Hostage, The Ruins and In the Valley of Elah.
His last film appearance was in the 2018 drama film Skin which has won an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film.
