Josh Dun was born as Joshua William Dun in Columbus, Ohio, the United States of America. He raised along with his siblings Abigail Dun, Ashley Dun, and Jordan Dun. Regarding his ethnicity and nationality, the rock-star drummer is a white American.
Josh was interested in music since his childhood, but his parents didn't allow him to spend so long-time listening to music. However, he used to secretly sneak out and visit a music store. He used to collect large numbers of the music of his choice.

Josh is a self-taught drummer, before achieving fame, he used to work at Guitar Center, and that the place he met his bandmate, Tyler Joseph. In March 2010, he joined the musical band "House of Heroes" and went on a tour with them until the end of 2010.
Later he joined "Twenty One Pilots" as a part-time drummer and short-time replacement for Chris Salih. After Chris and Nick Thomas left the band to continue their other project, Josh joined the Twenty One Pilots on a full-time basis and played an important role to release the band's second studio album, Regional at Best.
Josh and Tyler released their third album Vessel at the start of 2013, which also turned out to be another success. The rock-star Duo won a Grammy, for the "Best Pop Duo."
Other than working in Twentyone Pilot, Dun has collaborated with some of the top charter stars like Hayley Williams, Katy Perry, Adele, and many others.
