Juhi Chawla was born in the late 1960s in Ambala, Haryana, India. She was born in rich family to her father Dr. S. Chawla and mother Mona Chawla.  She has also a brother named Sanjiv Chawla. However her mother, father and brother has already passed away.

1984

Became Miss India 1984

Juhi attended Fort Convent School, Mumbai for her primary education and graduated from Sydenham College. After her graduation she took part in Miss India 1984, and she won the competition and became the Miss India 1984 and then came into fame.

1986

Debut from “Sultanat”

Juhi made her debut in Hindi movies from the move “Sultanat” in 1986. In that movie she played the role of Zarina and got breakthrough in her career. However the movie turned out to be a super commercial failure. 

1990

Gained Superstardom

In the year 1990, she gained superstardom in her name. In that year she played many movies such as “Pritabadh”, which her career turning point. The film turned out to be a super box office success and also her acting was praised by critics too.

2000

Became part of shows

During 2000s, Juhi became the part of many television shows, award functions. During that time she hosted Filmfare Awards and the Zee Cinema Awards. She has also been a part of Colors show, Jhalak DIkhla Ja as a judge.

2008

Owned KKR

Juhi and his husband along with the partnership of actor Shahrukh Khan owned a Indian Premier League (IPL)  team Kolkata Knight Riders(KKR) in 2008. They all owned the team in around $75 million and KKR was one of the richest team in IPL

1997

Married with Jay Mehta

Juhi married a famous multi-millionaire industrialist Jay Mehta in December 1997. The couple is together since their marriage and they are blessed with two children including 1 daughter and 1 son. Her daughter Jhanvi was born in 2001    and her son Arjun was born in 2003.

2016

Won Gobindgarh Kohinoor Award for Excellence in the field of cinema
