Kang Shin-il was born on 26th November 1960. He grew up with his parents along with his siblings and pursued his electronic engineering degree from Kyung Hee University. The passionate actor belongs to Asian Ethnicity and holds Korean Nationality.

1985

Debut in Chilsu and Mansu

Kang Shin is an electronic engineer but beside this, he wants to pursue his career in acting. He debuts his acting career in Chilsu and Mansu which is a stage performance show. His diligent acting won the heart of several people.  

1988

Debut in Films

Kang appeared onscreen for the first time in the film adaptation of Chilsu and Mansu and sooner became a prolific supporting actor in Korean cinemas and in television shows. His acting can be notably in Kang Woo-suk's Public Enemy Franchise. 

1996

Won his first Awards

Kang Shin won his first award in 19th Seoul Theater Festival: Modern Play Awards for the best Actor as well as he was also awarded for Critics’ Association: Best 5 in Theater for best Recipient in the same year.

 

2000

Won Best Actor Award

Kang also won 35th Dong-A Theater Awards as the Best Actor in Kimchigook Goes Crazy in 1999 and after a year he again won 10th Chunsa Film Art Awards for Best Supporting Actor in Public Enemy.   

2007

Diagnosed with Liver Cancer

Kang was diagnosed with Liver cancer for long period of time which affect his acting career badly. He later decided to do Liver Surgery and it was successfully done. After having surgery he resumed his acting career.

Kang debuted his acting career in Chilsu and Mansu after performing at smaller venues with his troupe which is known as Testimony. His acting career gained fame and name as a stage actor after playing “Kimchigook Goes Crazy” and “Chronicles of Han”. Shin debuted his onscreen career in the movie “Adaption of Chilsu and Mansu”. His acting career got highlighted as supporting actor in Korean cinema and television after conspicuous role in “Kang Woo-suk’s Public Enemy Franchise”.

Kang Shin was casted in numerous movies such as “The Uprising”, “Some”, “Closer to Heaven ”, “Deranged” and “See, Beethoven” since 1988 to till now. He had also cast in TV series “On Feel Young”, “Golden Bride”, “President”, “The Chaser”, “Bad Guys” as well as in “My Lawyer, Mr. Jo”.  Besides his TV series and movies, he also active participates in different Theater shows since 1985 to till now.

Shin has won different awards in his acting career for his diligent performance. Some of them include “19th Seoul Theater Festival: Modern Play Awards for Best Actor”, “22nd Seoul International Performing Arts Festival for Best Actor”, “10th Chunsa Film Art Awards for Best Supporting Actor”.
