Karen Austin is an American actress known for her role in the television series The Quest as Carrie Welby, Night Court as Lana Wagner, and Live Shot as Helen Forbes. She has continually worked on the film, television shows, and stage plays in a wide variety of roles.
Karen was born on October 24, 1955, in Welch, West Virginia, U.S.A. She attended Virginia’s Mary Baldwin College from where she got her bachelor’s degree in theatre. After that, she joined Illinois’ North-western University where she completed her master’s in Dramatic Literature. Karen is of American nationality and belongs to the white ethnicity.
Austin has been in the film industry since the early 80’s. She has appeared in many shows and films including both Star Trek Deep Space Nine and Star Trek Voyager. She also portrayed the role of Doctor Kalandra in Nor the Battle to the Strong and Miral in Barge of the Dead.
She was a regular on the first season of Night Court along with John Larroquette and played Sister Ignatius in Steven Spielberg’s Taken series in 2002.
Austin also appeared in the 1989 thriller Far from Home alongside Drew Barrymore. She has also appeared in several episodes of Murder One with Mary McCormack.
