Ken Jeong was from the upper middle class family born as Kendrick Kang-Joh Jeong in Detroit, Michigan, United States of America to Young Jeong and D.K. Jeong. He is an American and is of South Korean descent.

1985

Graduated from Walter Hines Page High School

As a child, Ken joined Walter Hines Page High School. There he was active in several things. There he was the member of High IQ team and he also used to play violin in the orchestra. He completed his high school graduation at the age of 16. 

1995

Graduated from University of North Carolina

After his high school graduation, he was honored with Greensboro's Youth of the Year award. Then he joined Duke University and he completed his undergraduate degree in medicine in 1990 and then he attended University of North Carolina and he finally earned his M.D. in 1995.

1995

Won Big Easy Laff-Off

In 1995, Ken took part in Big Easy Laff-Off and at the end he also won this show. Then he began performing at the Improv and Laugh Factory comedy clubs as a comedian. Few months later, he moved to Los Angeles where he practiced medicine for several years. 

1997

Began his acting career

During his early days in Los Angeles, he also appeared in several shows. He finally made his acting debut in 1997 and that was in the television series, The Big Easy starring the role of Dr. Tang. 

2007

First feature film, Knocked Up

He made his feature film debut in 2007. That year, he appeared in the movie, Knocked Up playing the role of Dr. Kuni. Next year, he portrayed the role of Employment Agent in the movie, Step Brothers.

2009

Appeared in the movie, The Hangover

As an actor, his breakthrough role came in 2009 after he starred the role of gangster Leslie Chow in the movie, The Hangover. He also got nominated in several awards for this role. Two years later, he appeared in the movie, The Hangover Part II.

Married to Dr Tran Ho

In September 2004, Ken got married to Dr. Tran Ho. Dr. Tran Ho is  a family physician and she is popular for being a breast cancer survivor. As a married couple, they welcomed a twin daughter in 2008.

After being married to Dr. Tran Ho, he became father for the first time in 2008. He and his sweet wife welcomed their first child together that year. She gave birth to twin daughters that year and they named them Zooey Jeong and Alexa Jeong.

In 2010, for his role of gangster Leslie Chow in The Hangover, he got nominated in MTV Movie Awards from two different categories. That year, he was nominated in this award for Best Villain and Best WTF Moment. He won this award from his later nomination.

In 2012 for starring his role in the television series, Community he got his first and only nomination in TV Guide Awards. He was nominated in this award for Favorite Ensemble. He was also honored with this award that year.

Won The Streamy Awards

Till now, he has been nominated in lots of prestigious awards and he has also won several of them. In 2013, he was honored with The Streamy Awards. He won this award for Best Guest Appearance.
