From the late 1990s, Lamar began dating Liza Morales a fashion designer by profession. The couple is parents of three children, daughter Destiny Odom, and sons, Lamar Odom Jr and Jayden Odom. On June 29, 2006, their third child and second son, Jayden died at the age of 6 and a half month from sudden infant death syndrome. The same year of their son's demise, the couple announced their separation.
On 27th of September 2009, Lamar got married to Khloe Kardashian. They dated each other for only one month before getting married in September. The younger sister of the Kardashians family, Khloe Kardashian is a famous television personality and one the Keeping Up With The Kardashians alums.
Lamar was good in basketball since he was a child. While he was in his high school in Queens, he used to play basketball from Christ The King Regional High School but due to his poor grades, he has to left the school and was transferred to Redemption Christian Academy. Later he was again transferred to St. Thomas Aquinas High School where he played under coach Jerry DeGregorio.
In 1997, as a senior, he was named the Player of the Year by Parade Magazine. In 1999 NBA draft, he was signed by Los Angeles Clippers and he played there till 2003. After his firsts season, 1999-2000, in March 2001 he was benched for 5 games without pay, in the name of violation of NBA's drug policy. Again in November, he was suspended for violating the drug policy for the second time.
After the 2002-3 season, Miami Het offered him in. He played for Miami Heat for one session and then in 2004 he joined Los Angeles Lakers where he won NBA Championship twice, consecutively in 2009 and 2010.
After the 2010-11 season, Odom was traded to Dallas Mavericks as a first-round draft pick. He stayed with the Dallas for the 2011-12 season. For 2012-13, he returned back to Clippers on a four-year deal. In the season, he played all 82 games. The season the Clippers finished 56-26 and won their first ever Pacific Divison title. In July 2013, Odom became a free agent but didn't land an NBA contract, and neither Clippers nor Lakers gave a thought on re-signing him, but both teams committed to other players instead.
Out of the box, on February 18, 2014, he was signed by Laboral Kutxa Baskonia of the Spanish League and the Euroleague on a two-month deal. Dure to back injury, he only appeared in two games for Baskonia. Two months later, on April 16, Odom singed for the New York Knicks for the remaining of the 2013-14 season. In 2014 Odom retired from NBA.
Odom's current net worth is said to be around $30 million. Odom made his million dollar fortune the day onwards he was drafted 4th overall by Los Angeles Clippers in 1999, offering him a three-year contract worth $7.9 million. In 2003, Odom signed a six-year contract with the Miami Heat worth $65 million, but after a short-lived career at Heat, Los Angeles Lakers took him in on a four-year contract, which paid him $33 million.
His total career earnings after 12 seasons fall in the neighborhood of $110 million. While playing for the Clippers in 2013, he made $8.2 million a year.
Odom has moved on from one property to another during his NBA' career. In 2002, Odom purchased five beds, seven baths, 8,557 square feet home in Pinecrest, Florida for over $2.9 million, and also owns a home in Manhattan Beach, California. He bought his California' home which measures 8,347 square feet and consists 7 beds and 8 baths in December 2009 for $3.95 million.
