Beautiful and talented lady, Laura Bush was born as Laura Lane Welch in Midland, Texas, United States of America to Harold Welch and Jenna Louise Hawkins Welch. She is an American and is of English descent.

1964

Graduated from Robert E Lee High School

Laura was interested in reading since she was a child. As her love in education grew with her age, she joined James Bowie Elementary School and San Jacinto Junior High School. Few years later, she got enrolled at Robert E. Lee High School and she graduated from there in 1964.

1968

Graduated from Southern Methodist University

With the completion of her high school graduation, she joined Southern Methodist University with a major in education and she also graduated from there in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1973, she joined University of Texas at Austin.

1968

Took the job of teacher at Longfellow Elementary School

She began her career as a second grade school teacher at Longfellow Elementary School. She also served as a school teacher at John F. Kennedy Elementary School. She worked there till 1972. She also worked as a librarian.

Had a car accident

At the end of 1963, she stuck in a car. The driver of that was dead after the accident. Her close friend Michael Dutton Douglas was also seriously injured in this accident. She was not charged for this accident.
