Leann Hunley is an American television actress best known for portraying Anna DiMera on NBC’s Days of Our Lives and Dana Warning on the ABC primetime soap opera, Dynasty.
Leann Hunley was born on February 25, 1955, in Forks, Washington to Hollum and Ellen Hunley. She attended the University of Washington in Seattle. She also worked as an answering-service operator and as a secretary at the Chinese Consulate.
In 1977, Leann dropped out of college as she didn’t find a major that engaged her interest. Later she moved to Oahu with one of her friends.
In order to support herself, she went for modeling. She also took part in Miss Hawaii and finished as second runner-up. Leann also got a chance to read for Hawaii Five-0.
She then gave an audition for a role as a secretary and hopefully got it. Her career took off when she met a producer who helped her with her career.
Leann signed some small roles and a contract with Universal with the help of the producer.
Leann also appeared on various television series such as Battlestar Galactica (1978-79), B.J. and the Bear (1979), and The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo (1979-80).
Leann’s role as Anna Dimera on Days of our lives won her an Emmy awards for the Best Supporting Actress at the 13th DaytimeEmmyy Awards in 1986. She portrayed Adam Carrington’s wife, Dana Waring, for the three seasons of Dynasty. She also appeared on Gilmore Girls as Shina Huntzberger in 2005.
Hunley returned to Days of Our Lives as Anna on June 21, 2007, after a 21-year absence from playing the role on the series until early 2017. Other casts of the show were Kristian Alfonso, Deidre Hall, and Alison Sweeney.
Hunley has also made an appearance in films such as The Beverly Hillbillies (1993), Your Guardian (2001), and Blissful Lies (2012). She has also appeared in different TV series including Hawaii Five-0 (1977), Mrs. Columbo (1979), Airwolf (1984), Hotel (1986), Days of Our Lives (1982-1986), NCIS (2010), and Raising Hope (2012).
While working on her career she met Bill Sheridan an American football player and coach with whom she fell in love with. The two stayed in a distance relationship for a long time before finally tying the knot in 1980.
Leann’s longest relationship by far was with Bill which ended in 2001 when the two divorced, after 21 years of togetherness.
