Letitia Wright was born on 31st of October 1993, in Georgetown, Guyana. At her seven, she relocated to London along with her family, where she attended school.
Wright had always dreamt of pursuing her career in the acting. More, she was much inspired when she watched Akeelah and the Bee and chose, KeKe Palmer, a role model who starred as Akeelah Anderson.
Determined to act, Wright sent emails to various agents regarding her acting experience until she was chosen for minor parts. She made her debut in the Hollywood, with the role Nyla in the movie, Victim. The same year, she made her TV debut with the series Holby City’s Episodes: “Tunnel Vision” and “Crossing the Line”.
The following year, she starred in “My Brother the Devil” where she was recognized by Screen International as one of its 2012 Stars of Tomorrow. She has also appeared in the movies like Urban Hymn and The Computer.
Recently, for the role of Shuri, in the movie Black Panther, starring alongside Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, and Danai Gurira, Wright gained massive media attention and came into the limelight. The movie alone was a hit and critics also seemed to love her outstanding acting skills. Even though she did not win an award, she was nominated for her first award i.e, a Saturn Award for the category “Best Performance by a Younger Actor”.
Subsequently, she also appeared in “Ready Player One”, portraying the character Reb. Her upcoming projects are Avengers: Infinity War and Untitled Avenger film.
