In 1981 while he was filming in the movie Excalibur, Liam met Helen Mirren. Helen is also an actress and she was also his Excalibur co star. After their first meeting, they fell in love with each other and few months later they began their love affairs. She played an important role to uplift his acting career.
In 1993, when he was starring on the Broadway, Anna Christie, he met love of his life, Natasha Richardson. Natasha Richardson was an actress from Britain and she was active in screen and stage acting. After being in love for several months they got married on 3rd of July 1994. As a married couple, they also became parents twice but on 16th of March 2009, she got a serious head injury and she lost her life two days later because of epidural hematoma.
As a child, Liam was an avid boxer. He began taking boxing lessons since he was 9. Within few period of time, he also became Ulster's amateur senior boxing champion. When he was 11, he was encouraged to appear in the school play in the lead role. He accepted this offer as his cross was also starring in this play. He then appeared in the several school plays and finally joined Queen's University Belfast in 1971. He was multi talented, he was also good at playing football and he also gave a club trial in Dublin but he was not offered the contract.
Liam then took several jobs at Guinness and finally in 1976, he got enrolled at Lyric Players' Theatre where he continued acting. Two years later, he appeared in his debut movie Pilgrim's Progress starring the role of Jesus Christ and Evangelist. The following year, he appeared in the movie Christiana and finally got the role of Gawain in the 1981 movie, Excalibur. His breakthrough role came in 1993 after he began starring the role of Oskar Schindler in the movie, Schindler's List. For this role in Taken 3, he earned the salary of $20,000,000 in 2014 and his net worth is said to be around $75 million.
