Kareem Dennis is a British Iraqi rapper and activist. He gained his fame with his stage name Lowkey and with his debut album Dear Listener. He released his second album independently on 16th October 2011.
Born And Raised In London
Lowkey was born as Kareem Dennis on 23rd May 1986, in London England. He holds the British nationality and belongs to mixed ethnicity.
He is one of two children of English father and Iraqi mother. He also had a brother who committed suicide while low-key was a kid.
He was interested in rap at an early age. He began to rap at the age of 12. At his teenage he started attending open mic sessions at the Deal Real Record shop in Carnaby Street, Central London.
Started His Professional Career From 2003
Lowkey started his career professionally in 2003 with the mixtape series Key to The Game. After a year and a half his second and third volume gained critical acclaim in UK hip hop circles. After that he began to tour Europe with other band crew Immortal Technique, Canibus, and Dead Prez. He released his Key to The Game series and Dear Listener digitally in December 2009 through iTunes.

Along with Immortal Technique, they released their single Voices of the Voiceless in September 2009. With the single Long Live Palestine he received a statement of support from Tony Benna and Benjamin Zephaniah. His Soundtrack to the Struggle was released on 16th October 2011 and was ranked at number 14 in UK Albums Chart.
He released his Soundtrack to the struggle 2 on 5th April 2019 and he went to UK tour just after a week of his album release.
Controversies Of Lowkey
Lowkey posted something about fellow rapper Chipmunk, he wrote If Dot Rotten doesn't duppy Chipmunk with a riddim, I might have to Baghdad style.
For his action Chipmunk response that he was not aware of who lowkey whilst also tweeting that "(he) shouldn't be allowed to tweet(him) and there was a war between two of them. However in an interview he said that he shouldn't have taken it as far as he did.
Lowkey was involved in controversy after the Palestine Solidarity Campaign. His performance was claimed as anti-Israel and his activity described to be opposite to the campaign. He was dancing to the song and showing the gang signs in January 2011.
