Lucy Hawking is the daughter of theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking and writer, Jane Hawking. She has two brothers- Robert Hawking and Timothy Hawking. She was born in England. She is of British nationality and English ethnicity.

1998

Got married

Lucy Hawking married her Alex Mackenzie Smith in 1988 but eventually the couple got separated in 2004. There might have occurred some kinds of problems in their married life which led them towards divorce. She has a son with Alex who is diagnosed with autism.

Published book

She published an adventure story, George's Secret Key to the Universe. That is about a small boy George who gets a way to slide through a computer generated entrance and travel around the solar system. It has been translated in 38 languages and published in 43 countries.

Lucy was a participant in NASA’s 50th birthday in April 2008 conversing on children and science education. She focuses on engaging children in science at an early age. For this effort, she was awarded the Sapio Prize for popularizing science in Rome in October 2008.
