Afterward, Verasamy shifted to King Edward VII School located in Norfolk and studied A-Level in Geography. Verasamy later graduated from Brunel University London in Geography in 2001. Lucy May Verasamy belongs to white ethnicity and her nationality is English.

After graduation from the University, Lucy worked at the Press Association's weather center. She worked there as a weather forecaster for four years.
Then, Verasamy joined the Sky News as an anchor. She presented the weather forecast on the Sky News breakfast show called Sunrise. In 2007, Lucy was a part of the Green Britain campaign of Sky News as they started a featured Climate Clinic - Ask Lucy.
