Luis Fonsi has spent some of his years in acting as well. He has an astonishing vocal and plays piano and guitar as well. He started singing at a very young age. When he was just a child, he used to imitate the stars of the popular group ‘Menudo’. Ricky Martin and Johnny Lozada were also once a member of the band. He soon joined the 'San Juan Children’s Choir'.
Luis started speaking English after a month of his stay in the United States. He joined Dr. Phillips High School in Miami and participated in a group where they sang at local festivals and school parties. The group’s name was ‘Big Guys’. In 1995, with the aim of studying music, he joined Florida State University where he again joined the school’s choir and sang with the Orchestra team.
He got enrolled at Florida State University with a full scholarship as he was so much into music. His primary subject was ‘Vocal Performance.' The university choir let him travel and perform in different parts of the world and also record demo tapes. Soon after that, he was offered with a recording contract by ‘Universal Music Latin’.
In 2002, Luis debuted his English album, ‘Fight the feeling’. In the same year, he also became the opening act for ‘Britney Spears’, 'Dream within a Dream Tour’ in Mexico and the United States. His fifth CD, ‘Abrazar la Vida’ opened new markets in Europe which was sold very well. His seventh CD, ‘Palabras del Silencio’ stayed in number one position for many weeks.
Luis Fonsi started dating a Puerto Rican actress, Adamari Lopez, from May 2004. After eight months of dating, they got engaged, and after a year of engagement, the couple got married on 3rd June 2006. However, the marriage ended after three years, and they officially got divorced on 8th November 2009.
After two years of their divorce, he found a Spanish Model, Agueda Lopez. After three further years of dating, the couple got married on 10th September 2014. They’ve been living together ever since with two children. Their first child, Mikaela was born on 20th December 2011. The second son, Rocco was born on the same date in 2016 and is just 11 months of age.
In 2009, he won a Latin Grammy Award for ‘Song of the year’ for one of his compositions, “Aqui Estoy Yo”. In the same year, he also performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert which was conducted in Oslo, and which honored recipient President Barack Obama.
He earned a lot from his latest hit, ‘Despasito’. Assuming that he made $0.008 per stream when it comes to Spotify royalties, he must have earned the total royalties of $30 million. But his actual earning was way less which was $2.7 billion. The video was streamed around 4.6 billion times and is the most streamed song EVER. From all his works, his estimated net worth is about $16 Million.
