Born in rural Leesburg, Georgia

Luke is from a middle-class family. He was born in rural Leesburg, Georgia, United States of America, to LeClaire (née Watkins) and Tommy Bryan, a peanut farmer. He went to college at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia.

 

1995

His brother died

Shortly before he was all set to move to Nashville, when he was 19, a tragic event happened in his family. He stated "My older brother, Chris, was unexpectedly killed in a ... car accident ... I'm kind of hyperventilating talking about it. ... You never truly ... move beyond it."

1999

Graduated from the Sigma Chi fraternity

Because of his brother's death, he could not make it to Nashville. Instead, he went to a college at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia where he joined Sigma Chi fraternity and graduated in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Married to Caroline Boyer

He is married to his college sweetheart, Caroline Boyer. He first met her at Georgia Southern University, at a local bar called Dingus Magees when Bryan was a senior and Boyer was a freshman. They married on December 8, 2006. They have two children together.

2007

His sister died

Once, he was invited to perform at the famous Grand Ole Opry, his older sister, Kelly, organized 129 people to attend his Opry debut. However, a few days after Luke's performance, his sister died an unfortunate death of unknown causes followed by her husband Ben Lee Cheshire's demise in 2014. Then he and his wife began raising their nephew Tilden (Til).

2007

Released debut album I'll Stay Me with Capitol Records

Luke was signed by Capitol Records to a recording contract. Those days, he also co-wrote Billy Currington's single "Good Directions", which became number 1 on the Hot Country Songs charts in mid-2007. In August 2007, he released his first album, I'll Stay Me. He wrote or co-wrote all but one of its 11 songs. 

March 10 , 2009

Released an EP named Spring Break

On March 10, 2009, he released an EP titled Spring Break With All My Friends that featured two new songs, "Sorority Girls" and "Take My Drunk Ass Home," plus an acoustic version of "All My Friends Say." His songs climbed to number 2 position on the country songs chart.

Released his second album, Doin' My Thing

His second album, Doin' My Thing was released in October 2009. It included "Do I” and interestingly it also included a cover of OneRepublic's "Apologize". He wrote the album's next two singles, "Rain Is a Good Thing" and "Someone Else Calling You Baby", with Dallas Davidson and Jeff Stevens, respectively.

His third studio album, Tailgates & Tanlines, was released on August 9, 2011. His album peaked at number one on the Top Country Albums and number two on the Billboard 200. "Country Girl" peaked at number 4 on the country charts and number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Bryan's fourth studio album, Crash My Party, was released on August 12, 2013. His first single, "Crash My Party", was premiered in a performance at the 2013 ACM Awards and was later released on April 7, 2013. Luke Bryan is a married man. He is married to his college sweetheart, Caroline Boyer. He first met her at Georgia Southern University, at a local bar called Dingus Magees when Bryan was a senior and Boyer was a freshman. They married on December 8, 2006. They have two children together, both sons, named Thomas Boyer Bryan (Bo), age seven, and Tatum Christopher Bryan (Tate), age five. His sister, Kelly died in 2007, followed by her husband Ben Lee Cheshire in 2014. Then he and his wife began raising their nephew Tilden (Til). 

He went to Nashville years later after his father told him to pack his truck to pursue a career in music. He started gaining success as a songwriter. He then signed as a performer and his first big hit came with "All My Friends Say". Once he was invited to perform at the famous Grand Ole Opry, his older sister, Kelly, organized 129 people to attend his Opry debut. However, a few days after his performance, his sister died an unfortunate death at home for unknown reasons. After he arrived in Nashville, he joined a publishing house in the city. His debut success was the title track of Travis Tritt's 2004 album My Honky Tonk History. He was then signed by Capitol Records to a recording contract. In the meantime, Bryan co-wrote Billy Currington's single "Good Directions", which went to number 1 on the Hot Country Songs charts in mid-2007.
