Lupita was born to parents, father Peter Anyang Nyoung’o, former Minister for Medical Services, and mother Dorothy Nyoung’o and she grew up with her siblings Peter and Esperanza. She attended St. Mary’s School, graduated from Hampshire College with a degree in film and theater studies and completed her master’s degree program in acting at the Yale School of Drama. Regarding her nationality, she is African-Mexican and Kenyan.
Firstly, Nyong started her career working as a part of the production crew for films like, The Constant Gardener, The Namesake, etc. which led her to short film East River.
