Lyudmila Putina was born to the parents of Alexander Abramovich Shkrebnev and Catherine Tikhonovna Shkrebneva on January 6, 1958, in Kaliningrad, Soviet Union. Her father worked at Kaliningrad Mechanical Plant. Lyudmila Putina was educated as a linguist.
She did her graduation from the branch of Spanish language and philology from the Department of Philology of Leningrad State University in 1986. She worked as a flight attendant before she rose to fame.
