Mandy Lynn Harvey who is widely known as Mandy Harvey is an American pop singer and songwriter who is deaf. She came into the spotlight after participating in the 12th season of America's Got Talent.
Mandy Harvey's Early Life
Mandy Harvey was born Amanda Lynn Harvey on January 2, 1988, and is 31 years old as of 2019. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to mother Valerie Harvey, and father Joe Harvey.
Mandy with her family moved to Colorado at a young age. She is of American nationality and belongs to the white ethnicity.

Mandy got enrolled at Longmont High School and graduated in 2006 despite her hearing problems. She then got enrolled at Colorado State University majoring in vocal music education for a short time before dropping after she lost her hearing completely.
Mandy Harvey's Career
Soon after dropping out from university in 2008, Mandy met Mark Sloniker, a jazz pianist and started her practice under him. Mandy began performing at Jay's Bistro in Fort Collins alongside Mark Sloniker using her muscle memory for singing.
Later Mandy recorded several jazz albums and also performed at Dazzle Jazz Lounge in Denver. In 2009, she released her debut album Smile which was appreciated by JazzTimes who wrote, 'The vocals are rich and captivating.'

In 2011 she won VSA'S International Young Soloist Award. She has also recorded several albums including After You've Gone (2010), All of Me(2014), and Merry Little Christmas (2013).
Mandy rose to fame after she took part in a televised American talent show, America's Got Talent season 12 in 2017. In the audition, she performed her original song, Try, with her ukelele which won her Golden Buzzer by Simon Cowell.
Mandy won the 4th place in the competition while Darci Lynn Farmer was the winner alongside the runner-ups, Angelica Hale and Light Balance, a glow light dance squad.
Mandy with co-author Mark Atteberry published a memoir, Sensing the Rhythm: Finding My Voice in a World Without Sound. As of now, Harvey is busy improvising her skills and carrying her musical career.
Currently, Mandy is busy as an Ambassador for No Barriers which is a non-profit organization aiming to help differently abled people.

Mandy since her childhood had suffered from hearing problems and underwent several surgeries to correct them, however, were not so successful.
Due to connective tissues disorder Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Mandy gradually lost her hearing. She lost her hearing completely at the age of 18 while she was still in University.

Mandy in an interview with BBC on November 15, 2017, described how she was accused of promoting oralism. She also stated about receiving death threats from within the Deaf community.
