Margot Kidder, Who Played Lois Lane in ‘Superman,’ Dies at Age 69

Heartfelt condolence! Margot Kidder, the Canadian actress, best known for her appearance as Lois Lane opposite Christopher Reeve in the Superman film franchise of the 1970s and 1980s, has died and he was 69-year-old, multiple sources have confirmed.

According to a notice on the website of Franzen-Davis Funeral Home, Margot passed away on Sunday at her home in Livingston, Montana.

The cause of death of Margot has yet to be revealed, but according to the late actress' manager Camilla Fluxman Pines, she died peacefully in her sleep.

Margot appeared in more than 70 movies and television shows, including The Amityville Horror, The Great Waldo Pepper, and the 2014 children's TV series The Haunting Hour, for which she won an Emmy award.

Kidder began her acting career in her 20s and rose to fame in all over the world after her recurring role in 1978's Superman.

She reprised the role again in 1980's Superman II, 1983's Superman III and 1987's Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.

In 1990, Margot had a debilitating car accident that left her badly in debt. The accident confined her to a wheelchair for two years and caused mental illness.

Additionally, she suffered a mental health breakdown in 1996, later being diagnosed with bipolar disorder.
