At his tender age, Matt Miazga started playing a football along with his hometown's friends in his local area. To achieve his dream of becoming a football star, he started his football career joining youth team of New York Red Bulls and played for a U-14 team. He led the U-16 team to won the U.S Soccer Development Academy National Championship.
Matt Miazga then signed a letter of an intent deal for Michigan Wolverines men’s soccer program. Later, he was offered by Europe and the New York Red Bulls and signed a new deal with New York Red Bulls, making him eight players to sign a homegrown contract with the club.

He then called up to the senior team after a three-year journey for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers matches. His first international match came against Saint Vincent and Grenadines national team. Till this date, he has earned 4 caps for his national team scoring 1 goals. Along with his team, he has been honored with CONCACAF Gold Cup.
