He Started his career as a writer at City Limits and IPC magazines. Later, Matt became the Australian TV correspondent for IPC and wrote articles for TV Times. He also worked for Melbourne Magazines as a writer. After several years of hard work, he started working as a full-time food correspondent for The Counter Mail, The Daily Telegraph and Herald Sun.
Besides, Preston also wrote for Master Chef Magazines, Australian Good Taste as Beverages and Drink Reviewer and later became the judge in 10th Series of Australian Master Chef.
