She was born on March 6, 1986, in Darwin, Northern Territory. She was brought up in Brisbane together with her family and friends. She is the daughter of politician and Cabinet Minister Peter Garrett.

Garrett began her hosting career in 2005 when she was auditioned to be a new presenter on Channel V show Fresh Meat competition. Later, she auditions to present the second series of Camp Orange which was aired on Nickelodeon, an American basic cable, and satellite television network.

Garrett began working for Nickelodeon television network from 2006 and the same year, she served as the judge of the Nickelodeon Australian Kids' Choice Awards. She also co-hosted the Orange Carpet opening of the Awards. 

In October 2009, Garrett presented a "branded entertainment" game show called The Pursuit, which was aired on Nine Network, a major Australian commercial free-to-air television network.

Later, Garrett made her guest appearances on Australian television talk show called Can of Worms alongside Fiona O'Loughlin and John Elliott. The show was broadcast on Network Ten, an Australian commercial television network.
