Philippa who visited the Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, for a blog issue on journalism with a Nieman Journalism Fellow (name not disclosed) studying at Harvard Universtiy. There, she met Richard, a student of journalism at Harvard Universtiy and a native of Cambridge for the first time.

Later in June 1997, Philippa was appointed at Washington, where Richard covered the State Department as the journalist for BBC. Ever since then the two has covered news for BBC.
With the decade-long marital relationship, Philippa and Richard are now proud parents of a child, a son.
