At the age of 19, she began her music career when she was first responded to the advertisement and got selected along with Victoria Beckham and formed a quintet with Emma Bunton. Their debut album "Spice" was a huge hit and got certified as multi-platinum in 27 countries. The members created the name "Girl Power" who later on went to become one of the biggest selling albums worldwide. Couple of years later, the group released second album "Spice world" which became another sensation in music industry. Her multi talented personalities then gradually started to explore when her interest towards acting and presenting started. She hosted the program called "Pure Naughty" and MOBO awards twice. In 2007 she joined dancing competition, "Dancing with the stars”. In January 2010 she was selected as the host of weight loss program "Dance your ass off".
As far as her personal life is concerned, she had an affair with the businessman Fjolnir Thorgeirsson for almost a year but then married Dutch dancer Jiimy Gulzar in 1998. They shared a daughter together who was born in February 1999. But, they divorced each other in 2001. In 2007 she met her current husband Stephan Belafonte who is a producer by profession and married him in the same year and they share a daughter together. Her current net worth is estimated to be around US $33 million.
