Melissa Gilbert is an American actress and television director was born on 1964, May 8 in Loss angles, California. She is the adopted daughter of actor Paul Gilbert and actress/dancer Barbara Crane (now Barbara Gilbert Cowan); her biological parents each had three children from previous marriages and, fearing they wouldn't be able to provide for Gilbert financially, put her up for adoption the day she was born. She has two siblings named Sara and Jonathan are also an actress.
Melissa Gilbert is best known for playing Laura Ingalls Wilder on the classic NBC television series 'Little House' (1974 to 1984). Previous, she had already done dozens of commercials like Tenafly, Emergency! and more. She also appeared in many popular TV movies like The Diary of Anne Frank and The Miracle Worker.
After these movies, she kept working regularly, mostly on TV. Melissa appeared in the biopic Choices of the Heart as Jean Donovan in1983 and also in 3 episodes of Babylon 5 as Anna Sheridan in 1996. She also gave her voice in animated series like ‘Batman…The Animated Series’.
Talking about her personal life she has three marriages and two divorces. She first married actor Bo Brinkman on February 22, 1988. The couple has a son together named Dakota Paul Brinkman but they divorce in 1992.
Her second marriage was to Bruce Boxleitner in January 1995 and gave birth to son Michael Garrett, But later they divorced in 2011. After the divorce, again she got engaged to fellow actor Timothy Busfield and got married on April 24, 2013. They currently live in Michigan.
