As an actress, she is best known for appearing in movies like Silent Scream and The Hollow. Moreover, in July of 2016, she and her bandmates along with a few other bands like O-Town performed in over 39 cities of United State.

Melissa is currently married to Brandon Henschel, a trained Hip-hop, Jazz, and Classical Ballet dancer. Brandon has also trained many celebrities like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie for their dance role and has been a backup dancer of superstar Britney Spears.  

The pair started dating in the year 2005. She and Hanschel got married to each other a year later on 7th June of 2006. The wedding ceremony took place at San Diego, California's Balboa Park, Prado. The lovely couple is still together and is going good in their relationship. 

On 19th Feb 2010, the actress cum singer announced her pregnancy with husband Brandon through a Tweet. Later on July 18th of the same year, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy, Elin Elijah Henschel. 

They are together since 2005 and are in a marital relationship for 11 years.

Recently, many female celebrities have been opening up about how they have been sexually assaulted by men in the industry. Not long ago, comedian Rebel Wilson spoke on how she was assaulted by a famous actor from the industry, however she did not mention the name.

Well, in November of 2012, Melissa also shared her story of sexual molestation by a fellow singer. In a blog post, the singer cum actress shared in a very graphic detail how Back Streetboy singer Nick Carter raped her back in 2002 in his apartment. 

According to her, Carter performed oral sex on her and forced her to perform one on him too; Melissa not being able to fight back was brutally raped.

She also shared that she told her manager about the incident, but no actions were taken as Carter had a very powerful legal team back then. Hopeless that she would never win the case, and worried that it might just end her career being destroyed, she chose not to speak. 

However, she was encouraged to share the incident after she read a published story about a woman who was assaulted by Carter last month. 

Well, it always takes guts to share such incidents in the media; Melissa is undeniably a brave lady.
