Mena Massoud is a Canadian actor and voice actor best known for his appearance in Disney's live-action remake of Aladdin. His other film credits are Ordinary Days, Run This Town, and Strange but True.
Early Life & Education
Mena Massoud was born on September 17, 1991, in Cairo, Egypt. His parents were Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Christian. He emigrated to Canada at a young age.
Raised in Markham, Ontario, Massoud studied at St. Brother André Catholic High School. A follower of a Vegan lifestyle, he, primarily to promote veganism, has founded a plant-based food travel show, Evolving Vegan.
Career & Filmography
Massoud made his television debut with The CW series Nikita in 2011. As for the film debut, he appeared in 2015's comedy movie Let's Rap.
The actor, 27, rose to fame after playing Jared Malik in Canadian series Open Heart (2015) and Tarek Kassar in the Amazon Prime series Jack Ryan (2018).
Most recently, Massoud starred in Disney movie Aladdin, which was directed by Guy Ritchie. He was the lead character in the film and appeared alongside Naomi Scott in the movie.
In addition to appearing in television and movies, he also provided his voice for a video game Watch Dogs 2 in 2016.
