Michael Oher's Mother Leigh Anne Tuohy Is Married To Sean Tuohy, Are They Happily Together?

How many of you judge a book by its cover? It is pretty easy to do that, but we never know the real story behind something. Similarly, American football player Michael Oher’s success makes everyone believe that his life is pretty awesome. That’s true! Oher’s life is good, but his past wasn’t.

Oher is the adopted son of his father Sean Tuohy and mother Leigh Anne Tuohy. It is quite amazing to say that the lovely Tuohy pair has been married for 35 years. Despite the years, Leigh and Sean’s married life is going well, and they are living together happily. Here’s the full story:

Leigh and Sean went to the same university, and that is where they first met. While Sean was the star of the basketball court, Leigh was cheerleader and homecoming maid. They quickly fell in love and tied the knot in 1982.

The couple welcomed two children, daughter Collins Tuohy in 1986 and son Sean “SJ” Tuohy Jr. in 1993.

Oher came to the pair’s life after their two kids. The book and movie ‘The Blind Side’ talked about the couple’s journey of adopting Oher. Leigh and her husband couldn’t hold themselves when they saw little Oher coming in and out of foster care system. They adopted him officially in 2004 and helped him with education as well as football.

Leigh is quite affectionate when it comes to Oher. She was super excited when Oher was chosen to play the super bowl. Her excitement level was so high that she didn’t want to talk about her daughter’s wedding, which happened in 2016 until the Super Bowl was over. ABC reported Leigh’s word as she said:

“On Sunday, I will be bawling because that’s my child. First of all to see your child live out a dream is wonderful. But every time he comes out there it represents hope to me. The Panthers gave my son a chance and I’m forever grateful. That’s part of being a mother.”

Leigh and Sean’s lives are revolving around their children. We believe that the pair won’t ever end up in a divorce.
