Schoeffling started his professional career as a wrestler and he has also achieved numerous medals participating in national and international tournaments including a gold medal in the freestyle wrestling. After spending a long time in wrestling, he debuted in the movie Sixteen Candles in which he portrayed the role of Jake Ryan.
