Lila Diane Sawyer is a TV journalist based in the United States and is best known as the anchor of ABC World News. Daine made her debut as a journalist, after graduating in 1967, on WLKY-TV as a weather forecaster. Later, she continued her studies and started working as a weather forecaster for WLKY-TV. She then moved to Washington, D.C. and began working as an assistant to Jerry Warren, who was the White House deputy press secretary back in the days. She later became administrative assistant followed by the staff assistant of former U.S. President Richard Nixon

Later on, in 1978, she started working as a reporter for CBS and also a correspondent. In 1982, she appeared on CBS Early Morning News as the co-anchor and as the correspondent in 60 Minutes

Moreover, later in 2000's, she started working as a co-anchor in 20/20. Besides, she is also the co-anchor on Good Morning America, Primetime Thursday/Primetime Live/Primetime, and ABC World News.

Talking about her achievements, her name was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1997. She won a Daytime Emmy Award in 2000 followed by another one in 2007, and she also has been named one of the thirty most influential women in the United States in 2001
