In 1998, she joined BBC where she worked as a junior producer in the newsroom. At the end of 2002, she earned the post of Washington correspondent. In 2011, she began hosting a show on BBC World News titled Impact. 

2015

Won London Press Club Awards

Last year, she was honored with one of the prestigious press awards and that was was London Press Club Awards. She was honored with this award for Broadcaster of the Year Award. That is also her only nomination in this award.

2014

Won British Muslim Awards

She has been active in broadcasting career since her late teens. For her contiguous contribution to the media world she was once honored with the British Muslim Awards. She won this award for the Services to Media award.

2003

Married to Meekal Hashmi

In 2003, Husain got married to Meekal Hashmi. Her husband Meekal Hashmi is a talented guy but his actual profession is unknown. Within a year after being married to each other they welcomed their first son.
