Youngest winner of a modern LPGA major championship, Morgan was born as Morgan Lee Pressel in Tampa, Florida, United States of America to Mike Pressel and Kathy Krickstein Pressel. She is an American and is of white ethnicity.

2001

Qualified for the US Women's Open

She began playing golf before she reached her teens. In 2001, she also made a record for being the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open. However, this record was broken six years later by Lexi Thompson.

Her mother died

Morgan Pressel was born to Mike Pressel and Kathy Krickstein Pressel. At the end of 2003, her mother Kathy Krickstein Pressel died of breast cancer. She then began living with her maternal grandparents. Some of her grandparents were tennis players.

Graduated from Saint Andrew's School

As a child Morgan joined Banyan Creek Elementary School. She received her elementary education from there. She then joined Saint Andrew's School and finally completed her high school graduation from there in 2006. After that she became more focused on golf.

Won North and South Women's Amateur

Like her professional career, she also had successful amateur career. She became the champion of North and South Women's Amateur in 2005. She also won U.S. Women's Amateur that year. She also reached the final round of the 2005 U.S. Women's Open.

Turned professional

In September 2005, she reached the first stage of the LPGA Qualifying Tournament being 6th. She turned professional in November 2005. However, because of the age limit she began playing as a part time player.
