Natascha McElhone was born Natasha Abigail Taylor on 14 December 1969, in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey located in England. Her parents Michael Taylor and Noreen McElhone were both journalists and Natascha took her mother's maiden name after her parents divorced when she was just two years of age. After the divorce, her mother relocated to Brighton, where she met and married columnist cum journalist Roy Greenslade. Her family also comprises a brother who is a scriptwriter named Damon and two other half-brothers Alexander and Nicholas.
Natascha McElhone received her schooling from St. Mary's Hall School for Girls, in Brighton, Sussex. She also attended Irish dancing classes when she was six. McElhone later graduated in 1993 from the drama school London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, located in West London, England.
Natascha started her career as a theater artist at the Open Air Theatre, London with starring roles in plays like A Midsummer Night's Dream and Richard III.
