The ninth edition of the Fast and Furious franchise, Hobbs and Shaw released their official trailer on 18th April 2019.
The first official trailer dropped in February, where they introduced a new villain by the name Brixton or Black Superman, played by Idris Elba.
The movie depicts a new friendly relationship between arch enemies, Agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham).
At the beginning of the trailer, Hobbs and Shaw are seen fighting a troop of gun-wielding villains blocking a locked door in Chernobyl.
After the fight, Hobbs and Shaw get access to a face-recognition lock which can be opened by using the faces of the enemies.
Shaw repeatedly gets denied access because his victim’s face fails the face-recognition.
The scene then moves from Chernobyl to a square in London, where villainous foe Brixton threatens a deadly global attack via public telecast.
He says,
Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, we’ve got unfinished business,
Brixton adds that Deckerd’s sister, Hattie, a role played by Vanessa Kirby (The Crown) — took a deadly virus from him which has the capability to
wipe out half the population, and [he] wants it back.
Actress Helen Mirren also makes an appearance from prison as Deckard Shaw’s mother, telling him to protect his sister.
The trailer also depicts WWE star Roman Reigns, who is Dwayne Johnson's real-life cousin as well as in the movie.
